The program is offered through the Office of the State Comptroller and there is no cost to employers to participate. When employers sign up, the program establishes a Roth IRA for each employee and the employer submits deductions on their own payroll cycle to withdraw the contributions.
Employers with 5 or more employees (full and part-time) that do not currently offer a retirement plan are required to participate. Employers that currently offer a retirement plan only need to submit the requested information to confirm their exemption.
