The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CTSBDC) helps entrepreneurs across Connecticut turn ideas into businesses—and businesses into success stories. Through trusted, expert advising, we empower small businesses to launch, grow, and thrive.
Now, we’re looking for a fresh logo that brings our mission to life and shows our statewide impact.
Your mission: Modernize and refresh the CTSBDC logo while building stronger visual connections to the State of Connecticut and UConn brand identities while preserving CTSBDC’s distinct, independent identity. This connection might be expressed through color, typography, symbolism, or another thoughtful creative approach.
What’s in it for you? If CTSBDC chooses your design for our new logo, you will receive $1,000 plus bragging rights. (Yes, we’ll tell the whole world, or at least our newsletter subscribers, about you and your design skills!)
Who is eligible? This opportunity is open to the public including UConn students, however, UConn staff and faculty are not eligible to receive the $1,000.

- Read the complete design brief (below) carefully before submitting.
- Submit an original design that does not closely resemble an existing logo or trademark. (Submissions open August 10, 2026.)
- Enter by October 30, 2026, using the Connecticut Small Business Development Center Logo Refresh submission form.
- CTSBDC intends to select a winning design by November 18, 2026. However, if none of the submissions meets our needs, we reserve the right not to select a winner.
