The collaborative effort between the Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CTSBDC) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) – Connecticut District Office culminated in an immensely successful event: Connecticut’s 1st Capital Matchmaker on November 1, 2023 – one of the Small Business highlights of 2023. This event served as a pivotal platform, connecting small business owners and lenders, and fostering invaluable one-to-one interactions that proved instrumental in amplifying mutual understanding and collaboration.
Business Empowerment: Insights, Advice, and Financing Tips for Success!
Small business owners were able to meet with staff from 19 lending organizations to get direct insight into the lender’s loan program terms and application process. Participants shared their business financing plans and received advice about how lenders view similar plans. Participants also had the opportunity to attend a panel discussion on the theme of “Getting to Yes” which features three lenders sharing their perspective on what makes applicants attractive to lenders. Additionally, two workshops, focusing on business plans and accessing capital, provided attendees with hands-on, practical tips.
